so i think we can all agree that a pub is essential to small communities, especially those in more rural areas, a pub can be a meeting place, a community centre, a place for games and most important a place to get a nice cold pint at the end of a long day. well it appears that saying this is one thing but Villagers in Polbathic, Cornwall have launched an appeal to buy their local.
The owners of the Halfway House went bankrupt, but a group of determined residents, backed by the Co-Operative Enterprise Hub, have set out to ensure this vital community asset isn’t lost.
The group is aiming to raise at least £145,000 by Christmas Eve. Shares cost £1 each with a minimum investment of £250 and a maximum of £2,000. To find out more visit the Polbathic Community Pub website.
