So today we take a trip into the darker side of town with a porter, a chocolate caramel porter. Now I have a sweet tooth, I mean you don’t get to my level of girth without a little overindulging in chocolate. porter is also a style of beer I absolutely adore especially during the colder months. It just warms the soul and excites the tastes buds every time. So potentially this is a win-win for me. Dark brown when held up to the light, four finger head upon the first pour that quickly turned into a single finger head that stayed around for the duration. Hoopy, malty and sweet on the nose. Sweet flavouring and a robust malt flavour Very little of the salted caramel has come through on this beer though and seems to taste like a standard porter. I mean there is nothing wrong with this porter. I mean it tastes fantastic and I want more of it but salted caramel it’s not and I know my salted caramel. My waistline knows caramel. This is going to get a score of seven from me, its a solid porter in every sense but the can just promise a little bit more.
