So today I’ve decided to embrace the cold snap that hits the UK and go for a beer made popular by our arctic circle hugging friends of the Russia with an Russian Imperial Stout. This boozy bottled conditioned powerhouse comes in at a whopping 10% and was black and thick in the glass with a brown two finger head on top. Treacle and malt on the nose, this is what I refer to as a dangerous pint, although its 10 per cent you never notice the booze, it slips into the background while a rich robust malt flavour takes over. This is a wonderful beer to sip in the cold weather and warms my soul.
