So today we take a look at a beer named after one of the most successful bands of the 20th century, iron maiden.
“Trooper takes its name from the Iron Maiden song which is inspired by the famous Charge of the Light Brigade. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character.
Trooper is a Premium British Beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.”
It was Brown in the glass with the tiniest sliver of head. Nothing on the nose. So I’m just going to say this in as plain a language as possible … this beer is poor at best. It doesn’t invoke the boldness and over the top excess that one would expect from iron maiden. This is a money grabbing stunt by a band that clearly doesn’t want any money to go to anyone else but themselves. This beer has a sickly off taste in the mouth. This is an awful beer and one I won’t be repeating again.
It would be rude to have anything other than trooper by iron maiden. Bask in what iron maiden do well while staying far away from what they don’t.
